THIS WAS A SIMPLE RISER INSTALLATION JOB THAT TURNED COMPLEX. TURNED OUT TO BE TWO SEPARATE 1 COMPARTMENT TANKS, WITH A POORLY CONSTRUCTED FLOW PIPE IN-BETWEEN. WE DID OUR BEST TO REPAIR THE FLOW PIPE, BUT THESE TANKS WILL NEED REPLACED SOON.

Notice how the concrete is falling apart? We were afraid to stand on this tank! The owner was insistent they did not want to replace the tank. The 1st tank was actually partially under the sidewalk in the backyard. Is was in much better shape than the 2nd tank above. BACK-FILLED AND ONTO THE NEXT.
This job came to us from a competitor how learned about it from Honeybee. It was a failed leach field; that was backing up into the home, possibly from a water softener that went bad. The owners existing concrete tank, a 1250 gallon appear to be in good shape so it remained in the system. We added a 500 gallon pump tank and 4000 square feet of field in 20 100′ trenches.

One day 1 we excavated for the pump tank to be installed approx 10′ after the tank. We added 3.5 feet of risers to come to grade.

We then trenched the field. 20, 8″ wide trenches, 2′ apart and 100 feet long. We had to stair-step 1 of the system fields to remain under 30″ deep. We specialize in trenched systems.
While they may not look it in the pic, the 4 valves are completely level for even effluent distribution.
After passing Engineer and County inspections, we are able to backfill system.

This started as a simple tank replacment and when another input line was discovered along with a crumbling leachfield, it became more challenging. The owners insisted on a concrete tank. With 4 beds we used a 1,250 gallon from Vaughn.

Excavating the new mainline was challenging due to trees, and the proximity of the existing field. Several 45’s and 22.5’s. It was a mess.
We tried to connect to the existing field pipe, and this is what we found: 1/2 diameter clay pipe.
This field was installed in the 40’s or 50’s.
After permission from Weld county to lay new pipe over this clay, we dug the tank hole.
Tank arrived from Vaughn and we attempted to lower it into place.
Then the driver said the power lines where too close so we have to start all over from the other side of the hole. =(
We eventially passed inspection, backfilled, and completed the job. This was certainly one of the simple jobs that tried our patients. Oh well, comes with the territory; off to the next. Another successful tank replacement from:
